Wisconsin Seasonal Wayside 2019 Spring Opening and Fall Closing Schedule


Seasonal rustic sites will open May 24, 2019 and close September 13, 2019. Seasonal sites are defined as: Waysides, Scenic Overlooks, Historical Markers, Table Sites, and Parking Turnouts.

Convention and Visitor Bureau staff provides literature distribution services to the public in Rock County at Beloit Rest Area 22 on I-90/39, Dunn County at Rest Areas 61 & 62 on I-94, Kenosha County Rest Area 26 on I-94 and at La Crosse County Rest Area 31 on I-90.


Rest Area Closures due to Highway Construction or Facility Repairs  

The following sites will be temporarily closed due to construction:

 The Janesville Rest Area – rest area 17 – along I-39/90 southbound (eastbound) in Rock County will be closed starting Monday (October 21) until Friday, November 15. Access at the WIS 26 and US 14 interchanges (Exit 171A-B) in Janesville will remain open to area restaurants, gas stations and lodging. Crews will complete the Interstate ramp connections to the rest area, as well as the expanded truck parking.
